About

Sam Mapp is an artist and writer. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the History of Art at The University of Pennsylvania where he is writing about the congruence of pictures and architecture in contemporary art, a phenomenon he is calling β€œthe pictorial area.” His recent pictures of glass architecture embody many of these ideas, providing a visual analogue to his written dissertation. In addition to this he is also a craftsman, having studied the design and production of jewelry as well as various forms of carpentry and woodworking.
